Beijing Gas Group (BGG) plans to invest 300 million yuan this year towards eliminating potential gas safety hazards that exist in 67,000 households across the Chinese capital city, Xinhuanet.com reports.
BGG conducted a safety inspection of 649,000 households in old residential quarters in the six districts of Beijing in 2011.
The group came to the conclusion that around 130,000 households have gas safety risks, which the group promised to eliminate over the next two years.
